How to make construction sites safer in 2023

Every construction company wants to keep its employees safe, a difficult feat in the inherently hazardous environments created by the construction industry. After all, a construction site is teeming with heavy machinery and equipment, power tools, workers, and in many cases, unsecured structures.  The good news is that technology is moving fast. The majority of improvements have led to advances in safety on the job site-- whether faster response times, better risk management, or overall site safety.  When it comes to the future of construction safety, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is at the helm. Their Construction Program provides national and world leadership to prevent work-related illness, injury, disability, death. NIOSH does this by systematically gathering information, conducting targeted scientific research, and translating the knowledge gained into products, solutions, and services tailored to meet the needs of the construction industry. Join us June 8th, 2021, at 1:00 pm to listen to Dr. G Scott Earnest, the associate director for construction safety and health CDC and NIOSH, discuss the future of job safety and the latest technological advances.  During the webinar, some of the technologies to be discussed are:

  • Drones
  • Virtual Reality
  • Augmented Reality
  • Apps
  • Smart Wearables
  • Site Sensors
  • Intelligent Equipment

Also presenting is Rob Messina, the senior vice president of product development and product management for JLG Industries. Mr. Messina will be discussing the latest products and technologies to keep workers safe, including the JLG virtual experience.
